Hom-Wells Family Reunion

A Legacy of Love, Unity & Tradition

For over 40 years, we’ve gathered from across the country to reconnect, celebrate, and create lasting memories.

About the Reunion

The Horn-Wells Family Reunion is a long-standing tradition that brings relatives together from across the country to reconnect, celebrate, and create lasting memories. Our reunion has been taking place for more than 40 years and has been hosted in several states throughout the years.

The tradition traces back to Choctaw County, Alabama, where family members would gather each August for a weekend of fellowship and family activities. The weekend would conclude with a Homecoming celebration at Millwood Primitive Baptist Church in Pennington, Alabama, where relatives and community members came together during the church’s annual Homecoming service.

Over time, as family members moved to different cities and states, the gathering continued to grow. Eventually, the family agreed that the reunion would rotate between states so that different parts of the family could host and participate. Since then, family members have continued the tradition by gathering every two years, with a different state serving as the host location for the reunion.

Today, the Horn-Wells Family Reunion continues this tradition by bringing generations of family members together to celebrate our shared heritage and strengthen the bonds that connect us.

The 2027 reunion in Dallas, Texas (Frisco area) will be another opportunity for family members of all ages to gather for a weekend of connection and celebration. Throughout the weekend we will come together for several events, including the Luau Welcome Meet & Greet, the Harlem Renaissance Banquet Night, the Family Picnic, and the Farewell Breakfast.

While each reunion creates new memories, the heart of the tradition remains the same: honoring where we come from while celebrating the family that continues to grow today.
